HOW TO SOLVE YOUR COMPUTER SLOW PERFORMANCE PROBLEM YOURSELF.

One of the major problem faced by most people of these days is to own their own computer that can be used to solve their own day to day computer related tasks or problems. Once they acquired (get) the system (computer) they become so frustrated when the computer start performing below expectation (that is, very slow).

Those people who uses computer system for works like; Graphics designing, Video Editing, Building Design, 3D Graphics Animation, etc., will definitely understand where I am coming from.

On this post, I will be sharing with you five (5) secretes I have discovered to help you speed up your computer system performance to its original state.

Before I start telling you those little secretes of mine, I will first of all like to remind you that this post is only intended to educate you on the real problems faced by your computer system and not meant to technically replace your computer engineer in any way.

Below are the five (5) little secretes I have tested and perfectly working for me and some of my friends I revealed these same secretes to in the past.

1. YOUR COMPUTER MAY BE INFECTED WITH VIRUS.

The first time I had an opportunity to own a small fairly used laptop, I was so excited and started installing different computer programs like; Word Processor, Adobe Photoshop, 3D Editing Software, Video Editor, etc., without installing any kind of Antivirus on the system.

I downloaded some videos and even music files (mp3) for my editing program and shortly after that, my computer speed suddenly when down (my computer was very slow in performance), I didn’t really understand what the problem was. I went to an expert and talked to him about my PCs suddenly problem. The first thing he asked me was, “Do you have Antivirus on the system?”

‘I don’t have anything like that’, I told him. He asked me to download and install a free version of Avast and us it to clean all the infected files on my system.

I did as instructed and after everything, my system performance when up again.

From that day, the first thing I always do when I get a new system is to download and install an Antivirus before putting any other thing on the hard drive. You too should download and install any updated antivirus on your system and do a thorough scan to see whether your slow performance is as a result of virus infection if not go to my second secrete.

2. TOO MUCH APPLICATION OR PROGRAMS ON YOUR SYSTEM.

If the virus was not really your problem or just part of the problem, then the next thing you should check is the number of programs you have on your system (computer).

Most at time, because we just bought a new system with high hard disk capacity, we just feel those space on the hard disk should be fills with anything.

If you have a lot of programs on your system and you think that could be the reason why your system performance suddenly when slow, then you should start uninstalling all the programs starting with the ones you don’t really use them until your system performance is back to expectation and maintain.

When you install too many programs on your computer system, then most of these programs will be fighting for space on your system RAM and even ROM thereby over working your C.P.U. leading to slow performance of the system.

Remember to only install programs or application you are sure you really need it at the moment and uninstall it as soon as you are done with the app.

If after uninstalling most of your computer programs on your computer system and the problem of slow performance is still there, then you should try the third secrete.

3. THERE ARE TOO MANY FILES ON YOUR HARD DISK.

Too many files on your computer hard disk may be another reason why your computer is performing slowly. Most people for whatever reasons have turn their computer hard disk into a Backup Drive which is not good for the system health.

If you do stuff like, Video Editing, Graphics Designing, etc., you should make sure all your work are stored on an external drive (Flash Drive etc.) to free your system hard disk.

If watching movies is one of your hobby (like me), then you should buy an external drive and only plug it into your system anytime you feel as to watch and unplug as soon as you are done with the movies to give room in your computer hard disk.

Always clear all the junk files on your computer system or you can download application like RAM booster or System Mechanic to help you out.

If after deleting every files in your system and your computer is still very slow then go to the fourth secrete.

4. YOU MAY BE OVER WORKING YOUR COMPUTER SYSTEM.

Though computer may be a machine, but sometimes it need some rest as well just like the human being, because overworking a computer system sometimes will make it go dump (not responding).

Sometimes it will be better if you finish watching the movie first before your start chatting online because doing everything at the same time will be over working the computer thereby causing the computer system to suddenly go dump which is not what you really want to happen isn’t it?

Don’t start more than one or two heavy application at the same time because it will used up your RAM thereby drastically slowing down your computer system. Learn to finish a task at a time and move to the next one for better performance of your computer.

If after doing this, and yet your computer is still not improving and showing those words “Not Responding”, message, then try the last one secrete I have for you.

5. CONSIDER CHANGING YOUR COMPUTER SYSTEM (UPGRADE).

Joking you said! That is the naked truth. At this time, the only way you can get your problem solved is only when you buy a higher system. Let me tell you what happen to me.

My first laptop had 512MB of RAM and 60GB of Hard Disk. Each time I start my video editing application on the system, the system always keep showing me these two letters word “Not Responding”, and I hated it until I decided to get a better system than that. I got a new system with 8GB of RAM and 300GB of Hard Disk which to me is far better than my previous laptop.

My advice to you at this junction is, consider buying a new system for yourself. And remember to go for higher configuration than your current computer to avoid wasting too much time on your tasks.
