One
of the common problems faced by most android users today is quickly running out
of mobile data. Though this may not be a problem to you, but I will advise you
to consider taking your time to go through this post and discover some few
secrete that might really help you save some of your mobile data.
“Remember,
data saved is money saved”.
Today
I decided to share with you ten different things you can do in other not to
waste your mobile data (Megabyte) while browsing on your android device. This
guide is not meant to teach you how to freely browse the net but to show you
some few leakages on your android phone where most of your data has been
wasting away without you really knowing anything about it.
Below
are the ten things you need to do in other not to waste your mobile data while
browsing the internet:
BLOCK ALL APPS FROM CONNECTING TO THE NET WITHOUT YOUR CONSENT.
Thought
there are android phones that comes with this app blocker, but in case yours
doesn’t have it then there will be no need to worry since you can download one
from Google Play Store by just keying in “Net
Blocker” on your Play Store Search Bar. Select from the list of net
blockers application and download the one you think will solve your problem and
start blocking those apps of yours from gaining access to the internet without
your approval.
You
can always enable or unblock each of the apps when you feel as to use them.
DISABLE AUTOMATIC SYNCHRONIZATION.
This
is the second thing you need to do if you don’t want to lose your mobile data
or waste your mobile data’s to unimportant things. If you have application
like; Gmail, WhatsApp, WeChat, Facebook, Google+, Instagram, 2Go, Yahoo
Messengers, Google Drive, News Apps, Weather Checker, etc., then you should
make sure automatic synchronisation is disable on each of the apps setting to
avoid wasting your data.
You
can manually allow or enable them when you feel as using them and have it
disable as soon as you are done with it.
TRY USING YOUR MOBILE BROWSER INSTEAD OF THE APP.
The
best way to lower your mobile data consumption rate is by always using a
particular browser to get what you are really looking for on the internet. You
can use your android browser to check your Facebook Messages and notification,
your Google+ Messages and even your Instagram, WhatsApp messages as well.
You
can also use your mobile browser to check for weather report and visit your
favourite news site and read your favourite news and stop downloading that
application that will make things easier for you as well as burn your data in
no time. Recommended browser that can do this and help you save a lot of data
is Opera Mini.
STOP PLAYING THOSE VIDEOS GAMES ONLINE.
Ever
wonder how much data you waste when you play those videos Games on the
internet?
If
you so much want to play the game, download the offline version of the game and
play it offline instead of playing it on the internet.
Remember
playing a video games on the internet with your friends waste more than the
amount of data you will used to download the same game for offline playing.
STOP WATCHING IT ON YOUTUBE AND WATCH THEM ON YOUR TV.
Most
people now use YouTube instead of their Television and that is not right. If
you don’t want to be wasting your data, then you should start watching those
news on the television and stop burning those data to watch something that is
free on TV.
STOP LISTENING TO ONLINE RADIO.
I
am sure the internet has come to stay and I also know that Google is offering
up to 15GB of free storage drive to store your favourite
files online, but what I don’t really understand is why somebody will be
playing a four minutes song over hundreds time online when he can download and
the song and play it offline to save more than 382MB.
If
you really love playing music, then download the music and play it offline
instead of wasting your mobile data playing the same song over and over on the
internet.
DO NOT DOWNLOAD LARGER FILES USING YOUR ANDROID PHONE.
Do
you know how ridiculous it sounds for someone to download a file that is almost
1.2GB in size on a mobile network using his android phone? Except there is good
reason attached to it, if not that is wasting of mobile data. The worst thing
is that after he finished downloading the files, he ended up saying “it
was the wrong movie”.
If
you want to save data, next time you want to download files that is more than
50MB, try using Wi-Fi or LAN on your computer system and stop replacing your
computer with your android phone. The android phone was made to assist you in
the absent of your computer system not to replace the computer.
Here
in Nigeria, 1GB is equivalent to ₦1,000 ($3.8) and if you waste it on
downloading ten files that is equal to 10GB, that will be wasting ₦10,000 ($38). Why on
earth will someone be wasting that much on files you are not sure whether you
really want it or not.
Remember,
data saved is money saved as well.
LOWER YOUR ONLINE ACTIVITIES TO SAVE DATA.
Except
you are working online, there will be no reason why you should be spending your
entire day on the internet burning your mobile data every single minutes that
passes by. I once had this friend of my who spend almost 60% of the day moving
from one chat room to another looking for someone to chat with. If you are one
of such person who love chatting online, then it is time for you to understand
that too much of everything is a disease.
SUBSCRIBE TO NIGHT AND WEEKEND PLAN.
Depending
on your network data plan, you can try using night and weekend plan since
browsing will be disable on your android phone in the day time and only enables
in the night time and weekend days.
With
this plan, you will have time to attend to other things that are very important
in your life and come back to your android in the night for browsing again.
QUIT BROWSING ON YOUR ANDROID PHONE.
To
some people, browsing is now a caused to them. If you are one of such people,
then my advice for you is to stop browsing on your android phone and only
browse on your computer system.
