Today I will be discussing on the topic “COMPUTER SECURITY” which seems to be one of the common problems people of this days ignore not knowing that it should be the first consideration after buying a computer (Laptop, Desktop etc.).
Now let us look at what computer Security really mean. Computer security can easily be define as a techniques developed to safe guard information and information store in a computer system.

WHY SHOULD I SECURE MY COMPUTER SYSTEM?

Here is four (4) reasons why you should secure your computer system:

It prevent your computer from the so called computer hackers from stealing vital information stored in your computer.
It gives you the courage that your computer system is perfectly secured.
It also prevent the malware and computer virus from gaining access into your computer without your knowledge.

HOW DO I GET MY COMPUTER PROTECTED?

Below are some of the ways by which you can completely secure your computer system without the fear of information leakage:

Backing up the information stored in your computer is one of the ways that will make your information secure in case of system failure.

Your can have the information backup to online server or even and external drivers like flash drive hard disk, DVD/CD plate or even on another computer system that is more secure than yours.
You can back up your file in your server online or even get your files backup to this address here or you can look it up in a search engine.

ANTIVIRUS.

Using an antivirus is one of the way by which information stored in your computer system can be safeguarded. Antivirus can be easily downloaded and installed in your computer system without any problems.
Antivirus can also be downloaded for free for those who don’t have any cash like Avast Antivirus, Eset, Macklack antivirus Norton etc.

ENCRYPTION.

This is another way by which information in a computer system can be secured. Encryption will only take some minute or hour for the first time only and that is all because any other file’s stored in the computer will automatically encrypt itself.
For those using Window Seven or Eight, you can get your system encrypted by clicking START and then typed in “Encryption” in the “Search” window.

Follow the onscreen instruction and then you are done. Remember, encryption can only take some times for the first time only and advantage is that any files copied from your computer cannot be used in another computer, not even in another user account of the same computer.

PASSWORD.

Using a strong password is another way of securing your computer system. In this method, all you need is to set up a strong password that can easily remembered and very hard for someone to guess.
Here are some simple tips on how to setup up a good, strong, very hard to guess password.
1. Make sure your password doesn’t comprise of English word.
2. Make sure it is not too short, that way it will make it harder for any password breaker to get in quick.
3. Make sure you do not make your name, date of birth or even your admission number or even things like that your password because that can easily be guess by people around you especially your friends.
Example of hard to guess password are listed here.
If your name is Emmanuel, then your password should be: *mm@n#l(e) this kind of a password is very hard to guess or even broken.

PROGRAM SOFTWARE.

This method is almost one of the best way to safeguard your information. Here, you can download and installed a software that will enable you keep your files more saver.
Examples of this programs are:

PROPER STORAGE OF YOUR PC.

The way, how and where your system is kept will decide how information stored in it will be safe.
Often time people leave their system with their friends, relatives, and even colleague at works this give them more room to hack, break into your system and steal whatever information they need in your system.
The proper way to store your personal computer can not be given to you in this article but the only thing I will advise you is that you should always be sensitive about where and how your personal computer is kept because that is your life. Not even your closed person should be given 100% access to your computer since every human being deserved some privacy.
